Registration

Pre-enrolment and registration update
Thanks to all the families who pre-enrolled before the deadline to help our school get ready for 2026–27!
We’re happy to let you know that, based on available space, all students going into Kindergarten, Grades 1-4 & 6-9 who registered or pre-enrolled with a complete application before March 25 have been accepted. Your acceptance will be confirmed by email. If you have not submitted all the documents, please do so by Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

We had more requests than available space for grade 5, which means new students will be chosen by the lottery process. If your child is entering grade 5 for the 2026-27 school year, you will be notified about the results by April 17, 2026.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR 2026-2027

Families of children entering Kindergarten to Grade 9 can visit new student registration to register online for the 2026–27 school year. If your child is attending an Edmonton Public School this year, please contact us for more information.

To register, your child must be a resident student which means that at least one parent or legal guardian lives in Edmonton and is not Roman Catholic. Three pieces of proof of address are required. Please note that we cannot accept registrations with future possession/move in dates.

Due to the lottery process (see below) and the number of inquiries we receive, we do not host an open house in the spring or offer individual tours.  If you have questions about our school or the registration process, please email us at margaretannarmour@epsb.ca.

If the school is full in the grade your child is entering, your child can go to the overflow designated school or another school with space. Your child will be added to our school’s callback list; if spaces in planned classes open up, they will be offered to students on the list.

Lottery Process

Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour School uses a lottery process, for new resident students living in the attendance area who wish to enrol in a grade that does not have space in planned classes, to help address enrolment growth and space shortages.

If we do not have space for your child they will be able to:

  • attend their overflow designated school (McKee School for K-6 or Vernon Barford School for Grades 7-9) or they may enrol at a Level 1 school with space in planned classes, and
  • request to be placed on a callback list for spaces that open before March 2027.

Sibling priority does not apply after pre-enrolment.

We will help resident families register at their overflow designated school. If families choose to go to another Edmonton Public school, they will need to call or email their preferred school to see if there is space in planned classes. Siblings will also be able to attend the overflow designated school, but if families choose to go to another Division school with space in planned classes, siblings are not guaranteed to attend.

Watch the Growth Control Model video for an overview of the lottery process. You can also read more about the lottery process on epsb.ca.

TRANSPORTATION TO OVERFLOW DESIGNATED SCHOOLS

Yellow bus service to McKee School will be available for eligible K–6 students. Bus fees will apply. Students who are eligible for yellow bus service must apply before June 1, 2026. Important information and application forms can be found on the Applying for Yellow Bus Service page on epsb.ca.

Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is the preferred transportation method for junior high school students; however, if ETS is not available, eligible students attending Vernon Barford School may be able to apply for yellow bus service.

If you have any other questions, please contact the school at  margaretannarmour@epsb.ca or 587-489-4704.
